John used to set his camera up, then bite on a blood capsule and hang upside down on the stairs, pretending he’d been bitten by Dracula whilst filming it all.
went away for 2 weeks with Nan Lily. We were on the pier when John said look over here, then a great big wave come up and soaked nanny Lily. She was not happy or pleased…. but we laughed.
John said he could jump from the coal bunker to the door step. He insisted he could do it but guess what? He slipped and badly sprained his ankle. He never tried that again!
I had scarlet fever and mum put a disinfectant sheet up over the door so John didn’t catch it. He used to crawl under it and come in and talk to me and play with me, that’s how caring he was to his little sister. Our mum didn’t know that until many years later.
