We have enjoyed numerous day trips and holidays together over the last 45 years.
In the early days we travelled in John’s VW camper van; four adults, four children (sorry Nat you weren’t around then), one very large dog, a table and numerous chairs and probably the kitchen sink as well!
We then went a little more up market and travelled to France. It wasn’t until the children had flown the nest that we started staying in hotels and enjoyed a cocktail or two.
*Editorial Note: Sources close to the subjects inform us that the alcohol enjoyment actually began several years before the children had “flown the nest”!
Avril comments: I remember the blue camper van that John and Linda bought. I was with them the day that they collected it down this end. And those blue shortest-ever-shorts are hard to forget!
